Ek Daav Dhobi Pachhaad
This film was the first project as a producer for the veteran Marathi actor Ashok Saraf. And for this big venture, he chose Satish Rajwade to direct his first film as a producer. Ashok Saraf himself acted in his home production as the lead. This was Satish Rajwade’s only second film as a director and his first comedy genre project. But he proved Ashok Saraf’s trust in him right when the film went on to become one of the biggest hits of Marathi cinema ever, its collections toppling even those of the biggest Hindi films released alongside it. When Ashok Saraf was asked about his choice of director, he said “When I saw the initial episodes of Asambhav, I could make out the directors impact. It became clear to me that this director is different; his ‘taking’ is innovative. And hence, even though this film is a comedy – a genre not handled by Satish Rajwade before – I chose him for his perfection.”
Gaiir
Gaiir is a forth-coming suspense thriller being directed by the man known best for this genre. Gaiir’s story deals with a split personality. The film starts Sandeep Kulkarni in a double role along with Ankush Choudhary, Amruta Khanvilkar and Tejaswini Pandit. This film is expected around Diwali this year.
